In 2003, the Legare Farms Education Foundation, a 501(C)(3) non-profit was formed.  The foundations goal is to help educate the people of the lowcountry about the importance of agriculture in our daily lives and throughout history.  We strive to teach the lessons about famr life while entertaining and providing a hands on-farm experience.

Field Trips to Legare Farms
Teachers note: Please keep in mind that this is a working farm.  Students should dress accordingly.  Tennis shoes or boots are requested. No open toed shoes or sandals.  Activities go on, rain or shine.  We request at least one (1) adult for every six (6) to ten (10) children.  All field trips include the use of our playground/picnic area and a visit to see the farm animals.  Read more…


image of a baby chickTeachers, rent two (2) baby chicks for your classroom for two (2) weeks.  Cost is just $25.00.  At the end of the two weeks, return them to live on the farm with our other chickens.  Chicks come with a box in which to keep them along with a two week supply of food.  Read more…


Summer Camp

Summer at Legare Farms means many activities and lots of fun.  Mark your calendar now and register early!  Camp for children ages 6-8 years old* will be held June 11-15; July 9-13. Camp for children ages 9-11 years old* will be held June 18-22; July 16-20.
Camp hours are 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. daily.  Read more…
