Help support Legare Farms Education Foundation by adopting one or more of the animals in our animal barnyard.

Legare Farms Education Foundation is a non-profit foundation dedicated to educating the public about the importance of agriculture in our everyday lives and in our history.

As a part of this, we maintain our farm animal exhibit so that people can interact with farm animals. The cost of feeding and health care for these animals is  enormous.  You can help us to defray the cost with your sponsorship so that we can continue to have these animals for your enjoyment.

Please keep in mind that because they are living animals, they are subject to illness or even death.  If this occurs the remainder of your sponsorship will be transferred to another animal.

Animals remain the property of Legare Farms Education Foundation and no ownership rights are conferred.

Sponsorships are for 1 year.

Farm Hand – $25 - receive an adoption certificate, a picture of your animal and a fun fact sheet.

Cow Milker – $50 – receive the same benefits as the Farm Hand plus a stuffed animal and 4 tickets to our Fall Pumpkin Patch.

Sheep Sheerer – $100 – receive all of the benefits of a Farm Hand plus 10 tickets to our Pumpkin Patch and a Mother’s or Father’s Day card from your animal.

Farmer  – $500 – all  of the benefits of a Sheep Sheerer plus a special hayride/bonfire for you and 40 of your closest friends or 2 tickets to our annual Fall Harvest Dinner.

Sponsor one of these farm animals in our barnyard.

ChickenOur chickens are 1 to 2 year old layers.

Cow

Our calf is a Holstein bull named Bullwinkle.

Donkey

Our donkey, Coco is a 6 year old Sicilian donkey.

Goats

We have 5 goats – Smilley, a 7 year old male; Olive, a 4 year old female;
and 3 Pygmies, Katie, Peggy and Penny.

Horse

Our horses are named Ginger and Dakota. Both are 20 year old Arabians.

Pig

We have a large variety of Heritage breed pigs. Choose a pig and you can name it.

Rabbit

Our rabbits are Peter Rabbit and Cottontail. They are 1 years old.

Sheep

All of our sheep are Jacobs sheep. This breed is black and white spotted and can have from 2 to 6 horns. You may select a sheep to sponsor from the following list: Pippin, Merry, Susan, Lizzie, Betty, Horace, Sophia, Muffins and Taylor.

TurkeyTom-Tom, our turkey, is a 7 year old Bronze turkey.
